Blogg part2:

  • Please describe your fondest memory from your time at M-A.  Discuss one challenge you have overcome and how you were able to be successful.  Who are you thankful for (friend(s), family, mentor, other adults, teacher, etc).  Finally, where are you headed next?

The best memory that I had at MA was when I went on the Yosemite camping field trip with Mr. Powell last year. I overcame many challenges but the number one challenge I can think of was when I was depressed in sophomore year. I overcame this challenge with the help of Mr. Powell and Jennifer Arias. They made me realize that I have a bright future to look forward to and that I can't beat myself down for small stupid things. I am also thankful for all the academy teachers for making my last 3 years here at MA not so stressful. You guys would motivate me to do better and I appreciate you all for that. You guys are the best! I will be attending college of San Mateo and I am in the cosmetology program. This will take a year to get my beauty license. After I get my License I will go back and major on business management and hopefully transfer to a 4 year university.

Car!

Some of the benefits of having a car is that you can commute to that place easily. Also another thing is that you can get to places a lot faster. A problem with having a car is that you have to pay for things like gas and cleaning your car. Also you need to pay for any mechanical fixes. You also have to pay tolls like bridge tolls if you go over a bridge.

Earth day

1. I think if we shop locally we make more money for our community. It may be more expensive but that money goes to our community. Buying stuff from our community strengthens the base of the community. Also it allows people to have jobs if the business is doing well.

2. If we shop at local businesses the money goes to our communities schools, police departments, and helps in local taxes. Money is used to buy other stuff from other local areas such as farms. This is a great help for us because we won't have to drive far to get stuff from a farm.

3. Locally owned businesses can make more local purchases requiring less transportation and generally set up shop in town or city centers as opposed to developing on the fringe. This generally means contributing less to sprawl, congestion, habitat loss and pollution. So technically shopping in local communities causes less pollution in the world.

The final chapter

My spring break went by too fast. I was mostly catching up on sleep the first half of my break. On Thursday I started my new job working at dreagers. I really like it there because everyone's so nice. I didn't really go out during my break.  I am looking forward to senior activities! I am looking foward to graduation! Lastly i am looking foward to leaving this school.(no offense) haha I'm done with high school drama and I am ready to move on. I am planning on making up all work needed in all my classes. I need to graduate but I want to graduate with good enough grades. Also I want to go to com to sign up for my fall classes for cosmetology before all the spaces get full.

Life situation card

1. Yes I was surprised about how much my net income came out to be. I went from having $50,000 to having $3,371.66.

2. I feel like food and housing was the more important because we need these things in order to live. The least important is entertainment and recreation because that is just an extra thing in living. I think most of these things work well with the life I plan on having.

3. I decided to buy a house in Reno and I found a house that cost $120,000. I had to put in a 20% down payment. Monthly I had to pay $266.66 a month. I would rather buy a home because I can't get kicked out, only if I don't pay for the house or my own rent.

My Money

It is important to begin budgeting my money now because in the future I might need it for an emergency. People need to discipline themselves to save money because not a lot of people save money. Also we can save up for retirement. Another thing is to set aside money for debt. It is important to make a list of what you spend and see what you should stop spending things on. Set aside money so you can buy something you want but still end up being guilty.

The rising cost of college

In the article "the rising cost of not going to college" talks about how you can be more successful if you attend college. In the article it says that people who attend college are likely to say that their job is their carrer. As in people with a high school diploma or less would say that their job is just a job that will help them get through life. Others say that college will prepare you better for a future job you may have. Statistics show that college graduates are doing way better than those with a less education. Having a major will help you get any job.
